Two-time ISL champions ATK revealed that the club has agreed terms with former magpie defence man, Ryan Taylor as replacement for injured Carl Baker, who will miss the rest of this season.

Taylor is a former England Under-21 international and is known for his versatile style of play. The Englishman can also perform as a midfielder and is renowned for his skill on a dead ball. The defender saw the kick start to his career at Tranmere Rovers back in 2002 and made over a hundred league and cup appearances over three seasons with the club. Ryan was also voted as the club's Player of the Year and was a part of PFA’s Team of the Year towards the end of the 2004–05 season. Before playing at the St. James’ Park, ATK’s freshest signing played for Wigan Athletic and after joining Newcastle United, he played an integral role in the club’s victorious journey to the Championship title (second division) in 2009–10.

"I am very excited to play for ATK. I know ATK has a huge fan following who share a high level of passion for their team. I will give my best, for the team and we will get back to winning ways.” Taylor said on his deal with the Kolkata based Indian Super League franchise.
