Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant is going to take over the charge for North East United FC as a technical advisor of the club. Avram Grant is a long time friend of the Owner of North East United, John Abraham and in the bad time of the team John found no one better than Grant.

One day ago North East United FC sacked their Portuguese Head Coach Joao De Deus due to a poor start of the campaign of the fourth edition of Indian Super League. They have collected only 4 Points from their 7 encounters in this season so far and are situated at the bottom half of the League Table. There's plenty of games still to be played and the management wants their team to make it to the playoffs in this season for the first time in the history of Indian Super League. That's why they acted fast and appointed Avram Grant as the technical advisor of the team.

"I agreed to the challenge and I am hitting the ground running. India is a new and exciting environment for football and I look forward to the pace of the League. I have confidence in the club and we will do all we can to take the club forward," said Grant, the former Chelsea manager.

Avram Grant is a known name in the footballing World for his managing career at Chelsea in 2007-08 season. In that season Chelsea did not lose any home matches in Premier League and also reached the final of UEFA Champions League. He had also helped Partizan Belgrade to win the Serbian Championship. Grant was last seen to coach the National Team of Ghana from where he resigned in February of 2017.

The managerial career, Avram Grant have in his belt, he can surely help the Highlanders to get them back on track in the winning ways in Indian Super League. Grant is expected to be there in the technical area in the next game of Northeast United FC against FC Goa on Saturday and the fans will now hope that this man can turn their fortune this season.
