Sunil Chhetri's stunner handed Bengaluru FC the important lead in the match against the defending Champions ATK which even proved to be the winning goal for the Blues at the end of the match.

Bengaluru started the proceedings from third place in the table with 15 points from eight games. A win today took them back to the top spot, above Chennaiyin and FC Pune City.

ATK on the other hand failed to impress and remain at the seventh place in the table—Likely to miss out on the Knockouts. Let’s take a look at the top Talking Points from the match:

Benglauru held the Baton

Bengaluru FC began the match with a bright note. In front of their home fans the Blues were attacking with all force. They were all over ATK at that period of the match. In that period, Garcia's corner met Paartalu's header which was blocked but fell to Bengaluru players inside the box. The attackers of Bengaluru FC failed to get a shot away from five yards out. Udanta Singh’s sprints were disturbing the defense of ATK.

Big miss of Rupert Nongrum in the first half for ATK

ATK came back into the game well, fashioning a few chances after 20 minutes in the first half. Then Zequinha picked up an unmarked Robin inside the box with a lovely lob. Robin headed sideways as Keane attracted Bengaluru defenders towards the opposite side with his run. Rupert waited and shooted at the far post but he took too long and the shot was blocked.

Chhetri - The difference between the two side

ATK gifted the Goal to Bengaluru FC as they lost possession in midfield when Thomas passed the ball straight to Sunil Chhetri who took a touch before unleashing a terrific shot at goal. The Goal took the pressure off from Bengaluru FC that were piling up on them.

The unlucky Champions

ATK created some good opportunities but their forwards were not clinical enough in front of the Goal. Robbie Keane was not having his day at Kanteerava Stadium and the other players also were not able to stand up for the big occasion. On the other hand, Gurpreet Singh were superb for Bengaluru FC in the Goal and the attackers of ATK failed to score against him.

Who was the better side in the match?
