Ashley Westwood Steps Down as ATK Headcoach

One of the most successful coaches in the Indian football scene, Ashley Westwood has finally resigned from his position today. Starting his ISL career with ATK as a Technical Director to head coach Teddy Sheringham, Ashley assumed the managerial status when ATK fired the former England International. However, Ashley couldn’t make his cut in the seven matches as a head coach for the reigning champions. From the possible 21 points, ATK managed just one draw while losing six matches on the trot. This leaves no space for the ex-Bengaluru boss to remain erected for the final match of the season against Northeast United at home tomorrow.

“ATK Spokesperson confirms that Ashley Westwood has decided to step down from the role of Interim Head Coach for ATK ,” read a statement issued by the Kolkata franchise.

Now it gets interesting to see who will take charge of the team for the final league game and the Super Cup play-off tie.
