In a surprising late night move, Mohun Bagan swooped in Gokulam Kerala’s marksman, Henry Kisseka. A replacement for Odafa Onyeka Okolie, in the colours of Gokulam Kerala initially, this Ugandan national riveted the attention of Indian football canon when he played an instrumental role in saving the blushes of relegation for Kerala.

He netted 11 goals in all for the Kerala outfit under the chaperonage of Bino George. Out of them, 8 of them were netted in the prestigious I-League and 3 of them came in the Super Cup. Ironically Mohun Bagan’s doom in the return leg fixture against Gokulam Kerala came at the feet of Kisseka when he stunned Shilton Paul with a late powerful volley from a very tight angle.

The 28-year-old Ugandan striker is not much of a swift player, but his muscle gives him a fine edge over the defenders. Alongside his gigantic stature, Kisseka has a keen eye for the goal. He is also a fine finisher. He makes up for his slow runs via meaty piledrivers and also towering headers.

He was also instrumental in taking Gokulam Kerala to the final stages of Super Cup after his brace ousted North-East in the qualifying rounds. Kerala was also leading in their round of 16 fixture until the 70th minute and that solitary goal came from Kisseka again.

Bagan’s ranks will definitely be bolstered with this new signing. With already Dicka and Samuel King roped in, Bagan will definitely try to bring back Haitian sensation Sony Norde. With Norde on the wings and with Yuta and Watson in the middle, Bagan will for sure pose an astronomical challenge for any title.

However, it shall be time that shall reveal that how many players will Bagan be able to retain from their current campaign. Jersey wishes Henry Kisseka all the best for his journey with Mohun Bagan.
