Former ATK Boss Becomes Spain's Technical Director

Remember Jose Francisco Molina, or just “Molina” for the ATK fans? Today after Spain’s interim manager Fernando Hierro stepped down from his position, followed by the below par performance by the Spanish team in the 2018 World Cup, ex-Barca boss Jose Enrique has taken the reigns in his own safe hands. With Jose comes another individual whom the whole nation, India is proud of. Yes indeed, Jose Molina has assumed the role of new Sporting Director is RFEF(Royal Spanish Football Federation), replacing Fernando Hierro.


Molina’s Credentials?


Molina has enjoyed a long and celebrated career in Spanish football as a goalkeeper with the likes of Valencia, Atletico Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna. Molina was also capped nine times for Spain between 1996 and 2000. He has won La Liga title twice with Atleti and Coruna each. 


And as a manager?


As a coach, the 47-year-old has worked in Spain, with Villarreal and Getafe, as well as Hong Kong, India and Mexico. With ATK, Molina has led the team to win their 2nd Indian Super League title.
