It is just over five years when Bengaluru FC came in existence in the Indian football sphere. They boast an elite record of winning at least one major trophy in each of their last 5 seasons. They set ISL on fire in their debut season before lifting the maiden Hero Super Cup soon after.

The Eagles are determined to bounce back to claim the glamorous ISL title and are not leaving any stone unturned. With the clubs getting into preseason mode, Bengaluru FC have announced their pre season friendlies.

Bengaluru have kick started their busy pre season schedule with a 10 day camp at their home facility in Bellary. The blues will now travel to Spain for the second leg of their preseason preparations. They are set to take on some exciting teams during their stay in Europe.

“We are really looking forward to what promises to be a very valuable pre-season tour in Spain. What’s key is the quality of opposition that we will be coming up against," said @CarlesCuadrat #BluesInSpain 🔵

An official club statement said that the Hero Cup winners will be training at a facility in Valencia. This is the second season in a row that the Bengaluru based club will be doing their preseason preparations in Spain.

They will play their first match against Segunda B side Atlético Saguntino and will then face UAE Pro-League side Shabab Al Ahli Dubai. Following their first two games, the former I-league champions will take on the reserve sides of Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Villarreal. The popularity of the Catalan club in the sub continent means that the clash between Bengaluru and Barcelona B will be the Marquee fixture of their preseason camp in Spain. The official Barcelona B Twitter handle has tweeted out their welcome for the Indian club creating a buzz in the social media.

Though the former Indian champions will be playing the reserve side of the Catalan giants, it is still expected to create a lot of excitement among the fans. Cuadrat's men will be inching to test themselves against one of the super powers of Spanish football.

“We are really looking forward to what promises to be a very valuable pre-season tour in Spain.  What’s key is the quality of opposition that we will be coming up against. Barcelona B and Villarreal B are massive clubs who work very well with their youth. It’s where players like Xavi, Iniesta and Santi Cazorla have come through. Equally tough will be our game against Shabab Al Ahli who were runners-up to Guangzhou Evergrande in the 2015 AFC Champions League final,” – Cuadrat.

This is brilliant news for Indian football after Kerala Blasters hosted Melbourne FC from Australia Pro league and Girona FC from La Liga in the their pre season preparations. After finishing their pre season friendlies, Bengaluru FC will resume continental duties with an inter-zone play off against Turkmenistan’s Altyn Asyr FC.
