The 25-year-old is set to return to the two times champions and has signed a three and half years contract with the Kolkata outfit. Pritam is currently out with the Indian national team in UAE gearing up for the Asian Cup, which will kickstart in January.

Kotal will join Steve Coppell's men after the international break is over. His addition allows the Englishman more depth in that fullback position and reduces their defensive vulnerabilities. A long-term injury to his former Mohun Bagan teammate Prabir Das led Coppell to limited options to choose from— Aiborlang Khongjee and Ankit Mukherjee. Khongjee naturally is a makeshift right back as he prefers playing in central defence and Ankit Mukherjee, who has been Coppell's favoured choice for the last few match-days is very inexperienced as he is in his first year of ISL.

Pritam Kotal has previously played for the side back in 2016 when he joined from Mohun Bagan on loan, and that year ATK won the Indian Super League for the second time under the tutelage of Jose Molina.

The Indian international will add more stealth to the ATK backline and Kotal is very competent in making those overlapping runs and whipping the ball into the box from the right flank. He is an integral part of the Indian squad and will definitely boost the morale for his new side who are currently languishing in 6th position in the league table.
