ExclusiveJersey can confirm that Marcelinho will not be a part of the Delhi Dynamos squad this year and will pursue his endeavours elsewhere.

Marcelo Leite Pereira has confirmed that he will not be seen in a Delhi Dynamos shirt in the upcoming Indian Super League season.

Due to a spat between last season’s golden boot winner and the Lions, Dynamos has decided not to renew their “Golden Boot’s” contract after it ran down in December last year. On being asked about why he chose life away from the Indian capital, Marcelinho said, “You should ask them…”

Marcelinho also told team Jersey that he was happy with the club till the end of the season but things went ugly thereafter. The former Anápolis star revealed that the Delhi based franchise owed him a sum of $25,000 as a part of goal scoring bonuses, as per the agreement he had signed with the club which also came out in media in a stinky form.

The Brazilian playmaker shared a picture of himself with a Chilean flag emoticon last night on his twitter account. The picture though had the flag of Chile, the prospect of him joining another club in the Indian Super League itself, cannot be written off.

There are plenty of speculations around his name, linking the thirty year old with the likes of FC Pune City and the Kerala Blasters in the past. However, nothing has been publicly confirmed as yet. With Greek side, Olympiacos FC also expressing interest in signing the striker recently, could Marcelinho make a return to the country where it all began for him?
