With the latest season coming closer, Indian Super League is grabbing all the attention from the fans. Now FC Pune City is reportedly set to sign Marcelo Leite Pereira, known famously as Marcelinho, apparently for $350,000 on a year long contract.

The 30-year-old winger is a popular name in ISL, having won the Golden Boot in the last season. The Brazilian played for Delhi Dynamos to become the most trusted name after scoring 10 times with five assists. All the Dynamos’ fans were on the brink of their wait for the confirmation, Jersey’s initial break of the news that the Brazilian winger would no longer be a part of the Delhi based franchise, now the news has come out of him changing the outfit.

Known for his excellent pace, skills and control, Marcelinho was on every team’s radar and Pune City succeeded in roping him in for a whooping price. Its reported that Blasters and FC Goa had offered a contract but the Golden boot decided on his banner upon who’s to pay more.

The main focus for Pune City will be to have a fruitful season and with Antonio Habas as coach, they will be a lot stronger. Now with the signing of Marcelinho and some really good signings of the Indian names, the team will have a dependable frontline and will believably have a successful season in the fourth edition of ISL commencing this November.

It was believed that FC Pune City would be extremely aggressive on their overseas hiring, and now having Marcelinho bagged, its become all the more interesting as to what all new names Habas will sign to fill into his squad.
