Former Porto midfielder signs for Kolkata Giants

Mohun Bagan has made the headlines again as they come up with the news of signing FC Porto midfielder Diego Alexandre Alves Ferreira. Kolkata giants have this time put the entire Indian transfer market into an acute shock.



It's their fourth major foreign Signing in this transfer marker for the upcoming season after Nigerian Kingsley Eze (defender), Liberian Ansumana Kromah (midfielder) and Ivory Coast’s Stephen Bayi Kamo (striker) in the squad. 

As per reports, the player is about to land in Kolkata for the medical test on Tuesday. After the successful completion of the whole process he would pen down a professional contract with the Mariners.



Ferreira has gained most of his experience playing in the A-League (Australian League) from 2010-2016 and representing Australia at the U-23 level. Ferreira was a part of Peneng FC in the Malaysian Super Liga last season. 



At the age of 16, Ferreira completed a successful trial with FC Porto and was signed to the club’s youth academy. At the age of 18, Ferreira returned to Australia signing for Green Gully and 3 years later he signed for Melbourne Victory’s youth team. He was a key player for two seasons, before he was promoted to the first team. At senior level he played for Green Gully, Melbourne Victory, FFV NTC, Brisbane Roar, Perth Glory and Persib Bandung. In fact Ferreira added glory to his fruity track record when he  represented the Australia Olympic football team on seven occasions.


So Mohun Bagan who are known for their one giant Signing every transfer window have  completed this year's part. Now the fans will eagerly wait to see how their galactics performs in the upcoming session, beating the ISL giants in terms of star-accomodation.
