After the two heavyweights of Indian football from Northeast joined tied-up earlier this year with a motive to promote the sport in the region and identifying talent on the hotbed of India, Neroca FC from I-League and Northeast United from the Indian Super League are set to play the most awaited match—A clash between the two top leagues in the country. Neroca will host the epic Charity clash on 22nd October at the Khuman Lampak Stadium, Imphal.

This will be one of the fixtures which both the clubs had agreed to play as pre-season friendlies. The home game for Northeast United will be played in the month of November, for which the dates have not been decided yet. However, the club manager confirmed that the second fixture with Neroca will see NEUFC’s youth team taking charge over the I-League Second Division Champions.

Northeast United has already begun their preseason on 27th September and Joao De Deus’ men will gather in Imphal on 17th  October for 10 days for this Charity match before heading off to Turkey for the 2nd phase of their preseason tour.

It’s highly expected that the Head coach Joao will field majority of his Indian boys including Rehenesh TP, Nirmal Chhetri, Reagan Singh, Gursimrat Singh, Lalrindika Ralte, Seminlen Doungel. From the overseas signings, our sources confirm that Sambhina from Sporting Clubs de Portugal and Martin Diaz are most expected to take the field.

The stadium which can accommodate more than 25,000 roaring Manipuri spectators has done special arrangements for VIP guests, school children and the rest of the fans. The tickets have two categories: Rs. 50 for the general category while the fans have to pay Rs. 300 for getting the A-Category seating.
